The Community Self-Care Program gives Black people spaces to find rest, process life, and increase their self-care. Self-care is essential for people that go through consistent stress and trauma. For Black people, this means that self-care is mandatory. So let's begin to talk and heal together.
We have considered gaps that keep us from slowing down and making space for ourselves. Our events and wellness groups offer free childcare, self-care products and tools, discounted self-care services, and increased access to how WE heal.
We have created community self-care events and wellness groups for Black communities in the surrounding Louisville, KY area:
Wellness groups are an excellent way to learn about mental health concepts that you can connect to your daily lives. We have designed groups to connect with topics that impact Black people and provide self-care alternatives and incentives. Group topics include self-care, stress, anxiety, depression, racial trauma, understanding messages, etc. Although Black people may go through similar life circumstances, they experience them differently. Therefore, Community Self-Care Wellness Groups are sectioned into the following population categories:
The Louisville Urban League, A Path Forward, and Begin to Talk LLC present The Community Self-care Program. This program provides Black people spaces to find rest, process life, and increase their self-care. Self-care is essential for people that go through consistent stress and trauma. For Black people, this means that self-care is mandatory. We have considered the gaps that keep us from slowing down and making space for ourselves. We offer childcare, free self-care products, and tools, discounted self-care services for program participants, and increased access to how WE heal. This program will host several events and wellness groups to support our mission to normalize healing and increase access to self-care and mental health resources.
The Healing Block Party welcomes everyone's participation. However, we strongly focus on heavily supporting Black communities and Black-only vendors within the Louisville, KY, area. To become a vendor, please register here!

-Host small groups of 10 people per category
-Groups will meet weekly for 8 weeks
-Most groups will meet in person with a virtual option
-Participants that request clinical intervention services will be referred to a therapist
-Group participants will receive self-care incentives
-Free childcare will be provided
